After the IPL Live 2023 season, MS Dhoni, an Indian cricket legend(IPL) and Chennai Super Kings captain, will be retiring from the Indian Premier League. This marks the end of a remarkable career. Dhoni’s farewell match against the Kolkata Knight Riders will play at Chennai Super Kings’ Chepauk Stadium on May 14. If they do not qualify for the playoffs, this will be the final game of the season for the Super Kings.
InsideSport was informed by a CSK official that MS Dhoni will retire at the end of the season. The entire franchise will feel the loss of the World Cup-winning captain.
“Yes, MS’s final season as a player. This is all we know. It’s his decision. The management has not been officially informe that he is retiring. This is an important occasion for CSK fans, as IPL returns home to Chennai. However, Dhoni’s final season will be a bittersweet moment,” a CSK official stated.

Four-time Indian Premier League champions will start their 2023 season in Ahmedabad against the defending champions, Gujarat Titans. After a disappointing 2022 campaign that saw them finish second on the table, the Yellow Army enters this season with a positive attitude. MS Dhoni’s team managed only four wins from fourteen games. However, thanks to a higher net run rate, they were capable of avoiding the dreaded tenth-place finish.
Dhoni, while speaking with Ian Bishop before the final match of the Indian Premier League 2022 between the Chennai Super Kings and the Rajasthan Royals was over, expressed his desire to be back in the team for another year. Dhoni spoke about his desire to once again wear the yellow jersey and lead the team to victory.
“Well, I think so. It’s simple. It would be unfair not to play in Chennai and thank you. Mumbai is a place where I’ve received a lot of love and affection, both as a person and as a team. Dhoni stated that it wouldn’t be pleasant to CSK fans.
